Taking female leadership to the next level - in tough times

The SHE Leads programme is an exclusive opportunity to harvest the latest theoretical and practical insights into innovative leadership. Through networking opportunities, peer group sessions, panel discussions and lectures, participants are offered the opportunity to reflect and mature in their leadership skills.

The programme is specifically tailored to women experts and executives, offering a dynamic space where workplace issues can be discussed with other driven women professionals from the Gulf region.

In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SHE Leads is going fully digital.* It is focusing on learning opportunities for growing as a leader, despite - or even thanks to - the new pandemic landscape. SHE Leads 2020 will consist of four online lectures on leadership in the time of COVID-19:

  • Changing landscapes: What the new work-life balance means for women managers, risks and opportunities;
  • Leading yourself in crisis: How to self-manage in extraordinary times;
  • Getting through: How to keep influencing and succeed in getting your message across, when working digitally
  • The next step: How to work on positive and large-scale change within and beyond your organisation, by encouraging small steps of change in behaviour

All lectures are pre-recorded films, to ensure that participants can watch them to fit their own schedule. To complement these lectures, participants will be invited to join two in-depth online workshops to explore these topics further for practical application and exchange of experiences.

Please note that the two, in depth two-hour workshop are set for the dates December 2 and 10. Attendance in both these workshops is mandatory to complete the programme and join the SHE Leads alumni network.

SHE Leads 2020 in summary:

- The programme is limited to a select group of 20 women executives based in the KSA and UAE

- The programme will comprise of digital workshops, networking opportunities and lectures

- We offer a high level of flexibility allowing participants to tailor the programming to their individual schedules

- The programme is free of charge

Applications for the programme are open from October 6th to 25th. The Swedish Institute will reserve the right to select participants from a number of criteria, in order to create a dynamic group and learning environment. Selected participants will be notified on October 31.

*Looking ahead... Our hope is that 2021 will give us an opportunity of meeting and connecting in real life, in a safe responsible manner.  More information about this will be communicated as we progress with planning according to the pandemic related guidelines.
